According to a post over on Vote For The Worst the New York Daily News is running a story on who the final 4 will be for Season 8 according to someone in the Idol camp who can’t keep their mouth shut.
The staffer purports that the final 4 this year is going to be Adam Lambert, Danny Gokey, Lil Rounds, and Alexis Grace. When asked if this was just the staff member’s opinion, she stated, “Those ARE the people,” and that it wasn’t speculation.
So what do you think? Will this pan out? If so does it show that the show is rigged? Leave your thoughts in a comment. Honestly I don’t care because I see my girl Alexis is in there.
I’m tired of all the hype that Danny and Adam have received. They are good singers, but singers like Matt Giraud deserve just as much praise. Matt not only deserves it but has earned it. I don’t get Alexis. She’s dull and only an average singer. She wasn’t that good tonight when she sang Jolene. It would be a shame if she ended up in the top 4 based on all the performances she’s given so far.

I would agree with this, but I do think someone like Matt G or Michael Sarver can be a sleeper. They could build a fan base large enough that the producers cannot ignore.
I would not be surprised if Adam Lambert or Alexis Grace peak in popularity early in the competition and then have trouble holding on to their fan base late in the game.

I think Lil has the much better voice. I never could get the attraction of Fantasia’s voice, it grated on my last nerve. Even Summertime, which was supposed to be this great performance, to me just sounded like a nasal train wreck. Obviously this is only MY OPINION, no need for anyone to get all upset. Just goes to show how different we all are.

I was certainly surprised when Cook won. Archie got all the coverage and the pimping was so utterly blatant the jedges might as well have come right out and said, “We don’t give a rat’s ass who you vote for, Archuletta is going to win!”
Then in the end, everything turned completely around for Cook. At the time I was still hurting over Brooke getting screwed by the judges. That too was as blatant as a slap in the face and Brooke knew it the whole time.

They don’t sound alike, but I think they look alike NOW. Fantasia has recenly lost a lot of weight, so she looks so much different than the way she use to look.

Well, those are 4 of the contestants who got A LOT of coverage since the beginning… and they are the ones with “the whole package”… although I would love Michael to be there, but i dont think so… his voice is not that great and his background doesn’t have enough drama for pity…

WoW, and whatever, is that what you honestly believe? I think the right David won even though I was an avid David A fan. Due to the fact that the press release you are referring to is almost a year old, they must have figured it out because nothing any further has come of it other than idle gossip

I agree with you that Lil is a dead ringer for Fantasia. I thought that right away.
So even if it were to happen, you couldn’t necessarily call it rigged because it was predictable to begin with. it would be called rigged if it were.. Kris, Michael, Megan, and oh I don’t know.. Danny or something like that.
Watch it be true and Idol scrambles to take one out of that 4 and put in another :tongue: (keep Alexis in!)
I would be mad if it was rigged….I mean we all would be… but this isn’t that valid because hellooo it’s a pretty predictable final 4 anyway, so it could be true whether you guess or not. I too am glad Alexis is up there.
There is no way she could know the final 4 (duh since it hasn’t happened) so most likely this is just a prediction. Crazy lady?!
Anyway, I really want Alexis to go far, so this would be nice.

I think those 4 are the “Duh!!!” picks for Final 4. Most people would put these people in their final 4.

I’ve been saying it’s rigged for the past three years. As an example last Tuesday I was trying to vote for three people. My local guy Scott, huge underdog Michel and dissed Anoop. I could vote for Michael and Scott many times no problem, but I could not log in a single vote for Anoop, everytime dialed his number the line was quietly dead. I was truly surprised he was not the one to leave last week.
Those are the same four that I think will be the Final Four two.And no one had to tell me. It’s obvious… :getlost:
