Moving right along…I did purchase the new Taylor Hicks CD today.
Now we’re talkin’ good tunes.
This is so true. Society in the music industry is much like real life in many ways. Its more concerned with how well you look rather then how well you can sing. The best looking guy on the team gets to play Quarterback and the prettiest girl is the head cheerleader in most instances. A I seems to be going in that direction to a degree. We all saw some of the better singers eliminated [or at least I thought so] because the judges are looking for this intangible star quality. I am not sure some of the older A I alumni could have made the finals today.
Miss Independent is probably my favorite. I sing along loudly to that one when I’m in the car. Isn’t THAT a pretty picture??
My favorite of hers was Breakaway. 2nd would probably be Miss Independent. I don’t really like this one in the video.
Jorge & Jasmine were on Ellen today too.
This song is not for me, but I do enjoy other songs she has done, very much so.
I remember a time when the kid was 5 and we were shopping, just as loud as you please she started singing “I’m not that innocent”

Can’t Photoshop a video. And they shouldn’t Photoshop her or anyone else ever. It’s too bad society makes women feel that unless they look anorexic, then they are unattracvtive. It’s really SAD actually.
I really like this song. But I don’t like the title. Can you imagine a couple of little 5 & 6 year old girls walking around singing “My Life Would Suck Without You”?
God I love this song. If I read correctly it is the first song ever by an Idol that wasn’t a “coronation” song to hit #1 on the Hot 200.
Of course, (IMHO) the sick thing is that if Kelly was a new kid this season she probably wouldn’t have made the top 13 since she isn’t a “package”. Al the poor dear has is a phenomenal voice (oh and songwriting ability) but really she is a bit well “disorganized” looking and she does take up some extra “space”.
Too bad she looks so much like a real woman. No place at the pop table for her.
It’s not my favorite of hers by any means, but it’s a’ight dawg. She gets a tad shrieky for my taste. But I do love Kelly.
personally I think this is one of her best songs :)
Great job singing, I like seeing her at that weight if she feels comfortable. This starving to make you look good only makes them look like they are starving to me. She was pitchy on the high notes because she could not hear the feed properly. I love her.
I still can’t get past the title…….. *sigh*
