Name : Michael Sarver
Number : 1-866-idols-01
Song : Ain’t Goin’ Down Till the Sun Comes Up
Judges Thoughts : (R) It was a cool song choice but it didn’t show your vocal capabilities. (K) We got to see your personality. We missed the big notes. (P) You had fun and we had fun. This is the genre that suits you so well. (S) It should have been good. I couldn’t understand a single word you sang. I thought it was a bit clumsy.
My Thoughts : Honestly I am hoping Michael goes home tomorrow night. Going first tonight really helps my case, not to mention the performance was just awful. Pack your bags and get your oxygen mask ready.
My Score : 15/25
Number : 1-866-idols-02
Song : Blame It on Your Heart
Judges Thoughts : (K) I am starting to think you could sing the alphabet and sing it well. You made that song your own. Every week you are getting better and better. (P) Another rock solid performance. No one will ever take away the power to your voice. You will go far in the business. (S) I thought it was good, it did look like you were struggling remembering some of the words. Rock solid. (R) I thought it was dope.
My Thoughts : Not bad at all. Seemed a bit slow for me but I can see this being a hit on the radio. Allison won’t be heading anywhere soon.
My Score : 19/25
Number : 1-866-idols-03
Song : To Make You Feel My Love
Judges Thoughts : (P) I am pleasantly surprised. I thought it was a pure vulnerable performance. (S) I thought that was terrific. Great choice of song. (P) You went out on a limb. Tender moments from Kris. (K) It was very Kris Allen.
My Thoughts : To slow and boring for me. There are so many fast, fun and upbeat country songs. Let’s rock it.
My Score : 17/25
Number : 1-866-idols-04
Song : Independence Day
Judges Thoughts : (R) Very interesting and ambitious song choice. When you hit the chorus you opened up and it got a little better. It didn’t look comfortable on you. (K) We know you are a great singer. The second half of the song we did get the Lil we are used to. It wasn’t your best but good for standing your ground. (P) Your vocals are spot on. (S) It kind of came over as a one of those girls that was forced to sing that at a wedding.
My Thoughts : She looks to much like Fantasia and I can’t stand Fantasia at all. The song was ok. I have heard this done so much better but it wasn’t bad.
My Score : 18/25
Number : 1-866-idols-05
Song : Ring Of Fire
Judges Thoughts : (K) Adam does country music. All a little strange. I got my drama but it was strange but I kind of liked it. (P) You are someone who stands out and is true to who you are. It was a great choice of song. (S) What the hell was that. (R) It’s current, it’s young, it’s fresh, it’s hot.
My Thoughts : Cash is a legend and this was just terrible. I wouldn’t listen to this again if you paid me to.
My Score : 15/25
Number : 1-866-idols-06
Song : Wild Angels
Judges Thoughts : (P) Tonight was another impressive performance. The piano may be a bit of a crutch though. Mix it up a little bit. (S) Your performances are too similar. Choose better songs. (R) I am looking for the hot crazy vocals and I am not seeing them. (K) We want you to up your game. Really deliver it.
My Thoughts : Great vocal. Boring performance. Hair still horrible.
My Score : 19/25
Number : 1-866-idols-07
Song : Jolene
Judges Thoughts : (R) You didn’t hit the notes quite well. There was some pitch issues. (K) I think you lost your edge. It was a little flat for me. (P) That song was more effective for you than the others think. (S) I thought it was ok. It was a little bit sound a like. We will forget that performance in 10 minutes.
My Thoughts : Alexis is my favorite. What a cutie but not her best performance. I will still vote my heart off for her.
My Score : 20/25
Number : 1-866-idols-08
Song : Jesus Take The Wheel
Judges Thoughts : (K) When you hit your stride it is like none other. The front half wasn’t spectacular. (P) I love when artists build a story. I think you were brilliant. I think Carrie would buy that record. (S) You have to have a little bit of light and shade. My only problem is what you are wearing. You are going on a polar expedition and it is 80 degrees in LA. (R) The verses, you have to support them.
My Thoughts : This song has so much meaning to my wife and I after our car accident in December. Wow, loved it. Started a little rough but the chorus and end were amazing. Danny is destined for the finale. Let’s see a Carrie and Danny duet of that.
My Score : 22/25
Number : 1-866-idols-09
Song : You Were Always On My Mind
Judges Thoughts : (P) Anoop is back. I am so proud of you. The love fit you with this song. (S) You went from zero to hero. That was one of my favorite performances of the whole night. (R) You can really sing. You proved it. I liked the arrangement. (K) Very hard to do what you did tonight. What you did tonight was amazing. Best performance of the night.
My Thoughts : Anoop should have been packing his bags along with Sarver just in case but Anoop redeemed himself and Sarver will be departing on the tarmac
My Score : 20/25
Number 1-866-idols-10
Song : I Go Walking After Midnight
Judges Thoughts : (R) I thought it would have been a train wreck but I was impressed. It was kind of good. (K) Perfect song, perfect look. You’re a winner. (P) You are a fighter. You were fantastic tonight. (S) You should have the flu every week. You were better this week than last week.
My Thoughts : Megan should knock country out of the park and she didn’t. Parts were ok, parts were horrible. It was a semi train wreck.
My Score : 17/25
Number : 1-866-idols-11
Song : So Small
Judges Thoughts : (K) There ain’t nothing small about you. Amazing, I love you. (P) Your a authentic performer. You’re piercing through so many people’s hearts. (S) I don’t think you have had enough credit with your vocals. Tonight you out sang Danny. Great vocals. Terrific performance. (R) Favorite performance of the night. You got it going on.
My Thoughts : Wow it was actually very very good. Can’t wait to hear the studio. Great close to the show tonight.
My Score : 22/25
I am country fan and tonight just didn’t impress me much. There were a couple of winners but for the most part the night left me bored and waiting to actually begin. So who will be in the bottom and who will go home? The bottom 3 will be a tough pick but who departs is quite clear to me.
Slim’s Bottom 3
Michael Sarver
Kris Allen
Megan Corkrey
Departing Via The Tarmac At LAX
Michael Sarver
Keep in mind my picks for bottom 3 and going home are not reflected solely on tonight’s scores. They are based on scores tonight, the season overall, fan bases that powervote and and what I think will really happen
Leave your thoughts on your bottom 3 and who will be heading home in a comment and tune in again tomorrow night as Angie blogs the results live.

:pouty: I must be one of the few who did NOT like Adams Ring of Fire. I was ill listening to it. I continue to like his take on Black and White and Satisfaction, but absolutely hated the ring of fire.
Poor Alexis, I figured she blew it when she was actually dressed on the show instead of looking like a slut. Last night she looked more like little orphan annie and I felt so sorry for her.
Im glad those who are in on the tour are, but I wish she had gone thru. Basing her “save” on her singing the same song that she was eliminated on was unfair. Should have shown clips of previous songs she did well. Who could sing under such pressure?
Oh well such is life eh?
I love this site by the way, maybe my favorite next to the american idol page
I love country music but it was a bit of a boring night, Megan had that interesting style with the country that I liked and Danny was amazing, really never got the whole Matt over Danny but to each his own. All in all last week was much better, let’s see how the results go.
My thoughts in emoticons….
Michael:

Allison: :pouty:
Kris:
Lil: :wassat:
Adam:
Scott:
Alexis:
Danny:
Anoop: :w00t:
Megan:
Matt:
Faves: Anoop, Matt, Kris, Danny… in that order
Worst: Everyone else.
Very WEIRD night.
Megan had good moments and horrendous moments — I’ll give her a pass though because she actually looked like she was about ready to pass out (the flu is nasty). That said, I don’t think she would have been much better even if she was well.
Adam Lambert (aka Goth Elvis) — weird…but I sort of liked it. Basically it was like Johnny Cash by Queensryche….
This performance made me think of an old “classic”…
“I was raised on Acid Country”

Adam is the one I want to see win – in terms of raw vocal skills, I can’t think of too many people that could match him, and he has great stage presence. And he isn’t interested in how he’s going to “fit into today’s music industry” (something that Kara in particular obsesses about) – he’s going to make today’s music industry fit in with him. Almost all of the great artists take this approach.
But – he needs to be careful about oversinging — with his gifts, he can perform at 70% capacity and still show more range, volume, and smoothness than anyone else. And too much rebelliousness can burn the bridges he needs to succeed — it would’ve been better to have created a uniquely Adam form of country in the way that Willie Nelson created a uniquely Willie form of country, but where it was still country. Instead, I got the impression that Adam was saying “#$%&* this!!” to the many country fans in AI’s audience.
LIl was great. idont even know that song & i love it because Lil sang it so beautifully.
Favorite line of the night: ”I don’t know about self-discipline, but it’ll be signature.”
I totally agree Random.
I just listened to Adam’s performance three times in a row and just like last night, I loved it. I absolutely LOVE his style and IMO he has great vocal control. My other favourite of the night was Megan. She was a little wonky on the high notes but I still enjoyed her performance.

Was able to get thru for the several others we like. So I guess thats good for Matt. That boy just bears his soul when he sings. I sure hope he makes the top five at the very least. I cant help but think of Ricky Braddy when I hear Michael Sarver sing and wonder what we are missing, oh well. I think Michael will get sent home.
I completely agree with you Lee. Ricky Brady was the better vocalist. However, TPTB may have felt that Ricky sounded too much like Danny and they didn’t want that mix this season.
That is very possible and unfortunate for Ricky because he will be to old to try out next year.
Hey, they can add a fifth judge and move the age limit… :w00t:
Random please, not so loud they may hear you and try it. :ninja:
Favorite line of the night: ”I don’t know about self-discipline, but it’ll be signature.”
Basically a disappointing night. With a few exceptions I am starting to believe that this group may be the “most talented” they have ever had but where are the stars? They are (for the most part) singers who could get a top 100 hit but not a top 25. Last year at this point, there were raging debates involving, David, David, Michael, Carly, Kristy, Brooke, Jason…this year? Adam and Danny. Everyone has supporters but there are many less fervent supporters. With one (maybe two exceptions) I could see any of these folks releasing an album that “sells” (downloads etc) 200,000, having highly successful cabaret/Vegas lounge type careers.
Part of this could be the format this year. We had heard a lot more singing from the top 11 at this point in prior years but…ah well, just my thoughts of the morning
some brief observations
Scott – REO Speedwagon wannabe
Matt – Michael Buble wannabe
Agree on those completely – and I never did like REO and have never cared for Buble either.
The more I hear Adam, the less I can stand to listen to him. Sure he can hit high notes but his his tone is shrill and the “Star Searching” (old term) vocal histrionics just grate on my nerves. Put it this way, if I had to listen to Adam for a whole hour, I’d end up with an enormous headache.
Michael Sarver just bores me to tears – consistently. Megan sounds more and more like Nelly Furtado – on a BAD day. I hope you’re right about them being eliminated.
Alexis was disappointing, I thought she’d nail a song like Jolene but she came up kind of flat.
I guess I’m in the minority but I liked Lil Rounds’ performance quite a bit. She’s got a great voice that’s not shrill and she hits the notes that suit the mood of the song rather than hitting notes just to show she can.
some brief observations
Michael – that guy playing the harmonica was COOKIN!!!
YES-The harmonica guy was amazing! Bring him back!
some brief observations
Michael – that guy playing the harmonica was COOKIN!!!
Alison – this is an angry song – I didn’t feel any venom
Kris – proves that much less is much more
Lil – fish out of water
Adam – acid country – groooooooovy!!!!
Scott – REO Speedwagon wannabe
Alexis – a song about desperate begging – I didn’t feel it
Danny – liked the first half – oversang the second half
Anoop – I didn’t hate it
Meghan – the current choice by the folks at Vote for the Worst
Matt – Michael Buble wannabe
I’m sorry, but Adam’s song was not country. If the Rolling Stones took words from one of Johnny Cash’s songs and sang it…..I can almost guaranty it would not be classified as country. Wouldn’t it be cool if they changed up the format to challenge these contestants in a different way? How about we get to call in and vote on what genre of music we’d like them to sing the next week? How about if they all had to wear identical button down shirts and dockers and each sing the Star Spangled Banner?
actually – a song like “Honky Tonk Women” was arguably of a country song (sort of) – and a lot of their style derived from southern blues sounds — I’m surprised they didn’t record a country album somewhere in there. Perhaps now that Robert Plant’s country effforts netted him a grammy, Sir Mick and Co might want to give it whirl.
I like the idea of having a night where everyone has to sing the same song – Star Spangled Banner would be a great idea — they could spotlight what I consider to be the all-time greatest peformance of it (by Marvin Gaye before a Lakers playoff game) – actually one of my all-time favorite performances of ANY song. And for one week, we wouldn’t have any moaning about someone choosing the wrong song.

I think Adam is fantastic. I don’t get the Danny hype.
Simple, because some people have a different taste in music than you do. That is why we all don’t listen to the same artist and the same song over and over again
That’s very true and you will get no disagreement from me but I notice that you don’t put this comment in when the spin is in the opposite direction..i.e Danny great – Adam not so much. It does go both ways, right?
Of course it does, Random, But just b/c Teri is a moderator, doesn’t mean she has to be neutral. She prefers Danny over Adam. She doesn’t have to step into every single dissenting comment to make the blanket statement that people have different tastes in music. She can pick and choose. How about you do the calming voiceover for those skeptical about Adam, okay? :silly:
And PS. Not an Adam fan here, but I liked listening to his song last night…. just can NOT take the visual with it.
Adam sounded like someone imitating Muse covering Ring of Fire. Current, maybe. Original, far from it. Right for this show’s 13 year old girl fanbase?
Yeah, no.

Thought Lil would be out of her comfort range tonite and she was off her game a little, but still not to bad.
