I hated it even more when the so-called judges refused to save her. I thought she was actually one of their chosen ones this season.

What could I have been thinking? She was not a woman of color. She was not a male who overdoes everything from eating breakfast to going potty. Her sob story wasn’t sobby enough. She didn’t screech like a banshee.

Of course the judges would not have saved her! :alien:
Hey Doc, I have to beg to differ with your comment. Looking back over the auditions their were many ladies of color that could not carry a note in a bucket, and some who could sing fairly well but still were not selected. Lil was picked because she has a great voice. Looking thru past Idol stars, There are Carrie, Kelly as well as Jennifer Hudson and Jordan Sparks. You also have men of color and non color winners. So as sad as it is to see Alexis go home to me to I don’t think it had anything to do with what she looked like.
totally agree.

THEY GOT IT RIGHT!!! LAST NIGHT ALEXIS DID NOT PERFORM HER BEST…. REMEMBER THIS IS FIGHT FOR THE BEST not THE 1/2 WAY PERFORMANCE!!! THEY GAVE HER A CHANCE BECAUSE THEY WANTED HER TO BE ON THE TOUR ALSO….. THEY GOT IT RIGHT!!
SORRY FOLKS, BUT ONLY ONE WINNER PER SHOW……
And in what way does that mean we can’t have an interesting show?! Alexis is a born singer and we were enjoying her every week, one wrong song choice should not see a contestant loose everything, better someone who was not that good to begin with should be eliminated.
Exactly. Bad song choice sent Alexis home. In my opinion, she was a lot better than some of the others.

on Tues, the problem I saw with Alexis was that she didn’t connect with the song — Jolene is a song of desperate begging and pleading – and all I heard was a perfunctory performance — I liked her voice (as always), but no feeling.

last night, though — it was time for begging and pleading — and Jolene was the perfect song to be singing – and I absolutely LOVED it — I was almost in tears myself at the end of it. I really thought she’d get the save, but maybe the judges didn’t want to use it this early.

but there was a major lesson to be learned here — when you go out there on Tuesday, imagine that it’s Wednesday – and sing like this is your absolute last chance — because in reality it may well be your last chance.

and the most important thing a singer must bring is FEELING!!!! — you can have all the skills in the world, but if there’s no feeling, you’re just this thing that sings.

Yes Alison I’m talking about you — your song was a venomous “I’m not gonna take it” rage against your lyin, cheatin’, two-timin’ boyfriend and you were all nicey nice

Yes Lil, you too — your song was about how momma was fed up with alcoholic poppa and how she finally stood her ground and “lit up the sky that 4th of July” — and like Alison, it was all nicey nice

    Well said, Doc,

  8. Jennifer says:

It is wrong that Alexis is gone. I realize she didn’t give a great performance, but it was certainly better than Michael Sarver. I thought the judges would save her because when it comes right down to it, are Danny, Adam, Lil Rounds, or Allison ever going to have the fewest votes where they would use the save. I don’t see them using the save factor this season.

Due to the unfortunate turn of events of last evening I’m burning my “Idol Fan” t-shirt, extracting the brick from my television and starting a small business selling “I HATE SIMON” dartboards financed by AIG.

I’m never ever watching this travesty of justice again. My heart is heavy, my soul is wrenched and I just don’t think there’s much left to go on for. I’ve enjoyed the folks that I met here on IBL but the memories are just too painful to continue visiting.

    I’ll miss you all.

(btw – the shows are moved to next Wednesday & Thursday, right?)

  10. lili says:

although i think scott or michael sarver deserved to go home more than alexis, i dont think alexis going home was a big loss.

she was okay. but just okay. she did well in her top 36 performance, and sung alright (though oversung, in my opinion) during michael jackson week. but her cover of jolene was pretty terrible.

she wouldnt have won. and i think allison is the best female in the competition anyway. comparing both of them together, alexis was expendable.

    Amen brother.

  12. Joe Cool says:

Here is my consiparncy theory. They needed a sacrificial lamb after the leak of the top four. The same night “top four” are revealed each one of them gets not so good comments by the judges. Then tonight just like that out of the blue Alexis is out. Hell no, something smells and it ain’t my socks. But hey you all don’t have to agree with me.

Oops lol… no I have LOST respect for them!
    Yeah…… really..

  15. Lee says:

Major Bummer. Alexis is a gorgeous little package of dynamite that would have finished at least in the top 6.[imo]. So much for the idol leak storey about the final 4. Although I did not much care for her version of Jolene, she had the potential to entertain us for a long time to come. She would be a lot more fun on tour then Michael Sarver. How the hell that guy made the finals beats me. I don’t think he is good enough even to have been a wild card. Oh well I voted for her and I’m still glad I did. I will miss her.

 I’m sick over this. Death to Michael Sarver :ninja:

  18. Roxanne says:

Alexis wouldn’t have been my pick to go home. I didn’t like her Joleen, but she should not have gone home. Scott was my pick to go home. I think he’s too bland wiht little stage presence for the tour. I’m not surprised the judges didn’t use their save this early on. Sorry Slim. Hope you don’t shut the blog down!

  19. Bevyv says:

Booooo to the judges who didn’t ‘save’ Alexis Grace. It’s sooooo wrong!

  20. MedSchool says:

I think Meagan should have been eliminated. Just my humble opinion.

  21. Brian says:

America got this absolutely right! I never got the hype surrounding Alexis Grace, just like I never got the hype that surrounded vocally bland contestants like Haley Scanato and Kristy Lee Cook. Thank you America for doing the right thing! And thank you to the judges for not using the save this early in the competition. I would much rather use the save on someone like Matt Giraud or Anoop.

  22. rachel says:

    I’m so sorry, Slim.
Alexis is so much better than both Michael and Allison. I still can’t believe she’s going home.

  23. Justin says:
