If they do like X FACTOR (similar show in UK) they will have each week a bottom 2 from the public vote and those two persons have to “sing for their lives”. It doesn’t have to be the song they performed, but a NEW one THEY chose. And after that the judges decide wich person is going home.
If the judges don’t agree (like each contestand had 2 juries votes – 2/2) then it went to “death-lock” and it’s really to the really bottom 1 by the public vote.
Last X Factor did that and althought I though it was horrible because I mean they don’t always know what the audience wanted, it had something good: the contestants in the bottom 2 could really prove what they’re made off because the song didn’t have a theme, was they’re choice alone. And it allowed us to know better some singers like Ruth Lorenzo, a spanish girl who was in bottom 2 in week 2 and then did an amazing performance of Prince’s Purple Rain.
Don’t know if it will be it, and if it is, should start with a bottom 3 and then just 1 is saved.
Even if the judges get more power look at the good side: more performances and sometimes some that otherwise you would never see. Ruth Lorenzo tought me that last X Factor
just search her in DailyMotion (’cause Youtube deleted all the videos).
I really diden’t like what the judges were saying, to me it sounded somthing like the bottom 3 will have a singoff and the judges will have the final say just in case one of the precious marketed products that are up there (Lil, Adam…) accidently get the lowest number of votes.
Hopeing for the best and fingers crossed.
The twist will probably involve the judges picking one of the people to leave from the bottom 2 or 3 . I would imagine the top 2 or 3 or so would be safe
I would suspect the twist may in fact be that the judges pick one from the bottom three and send them back to the safety of the couch. Then the lowest vote getter *snicker* of the remaining two go home. Since this is a double elimination, they may either have a bottom four, or both of the ones left on the eyball of death are gone.

The judge get a veto power, it means that they can save one contestant during the whole season.
It works the following way, after the contestant(s) was eliminated, the judges have a meeting and decide if he is worth saving or not. If they decide he deserved it they give him another chance and the following week they start the show with the same contestants.
And what if they still haven’t used that veto by the finale, then #2 gets voted off, making #1 the winner, but they decide to exercise their veto to “save” #2, making them redo the finale show again?! I like complications!
haven’t had a chance to read all the comments but there is talk about the Twist being a one time veto.
Here is what mjsbigblog is saying about the veto and how it would work if it is the twist. not saying it is yet
I think it’s just that the judges will now have some input. They are not going to leave it all up to the judges – that would be SO boring! But I do think they are going to now give the judges x percent of the vote.
That or the sing off idea – that would be interesting!
That’s how I would like it to be

It’s probably the judges pick who goes home since Simon said “It involves us” when Ryan prompted him on it.
I agree. However, since it is a double elimination, we might see the first one gone purely on “America’s” vote. The second one gone would be judges choice. AI is grasping for straws to reinvent itself. “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.”
Except it is breaking. Kara was a mistake, the “kids” for the most part now know all the tropes needed to make Hollywood and the top 12, so the true amateurs are getting killed off fast, Ryan and the gang “fighting with” Simon is a bad parody of itself , the sound quality is worse than ever (how is that possible) and the studio audience has little to no spontaneity as they have learned their parts as well (boo Simon whenever he is intelligent, mindless clap out of rhythm, standing o for not burping during your song) etc.
Whatever they do will read as “jumping the shark” to many at this point.
But don’t worry Amy, I’m still watchin…no #14 here. :w00t:

I agree with Driller (again) and believe this is the ‘twist’ they are talking about.

Wow. That would be something. You might just have something there Amy.

It will probably be a sing off between the bottom three contestants and then the judges choose who goes home. I think they are trying to make this show like the X factor, which is fine with me because the X factor is a better show.
I actually like the idea of a singoff between the bottom 2, except that they would be singing the same songs that landed them in the bottom. How do you make bad sound any better?!
Exactly! That would ensure that Anoop goes home, because EVERYONE thought that was the wrong song choice. It even sobered Paula up long enough to make a real comment for a change.
Nah, Anoop is very safe. He won’t be singing for his supper.
I think it may be uglier. The judges just saying, you got no votes but you are staying. You got lots of votes but you are not a package and CarUH can’t figure out how to write a cheesy song for you so goodbye.

 Come on baby let’s do the twist
Come on baby let’s do the twist
Take me by my little hand and go like this
Ee-oh twist baby baby twist
Oooh-yeah just like this
Come on little miss and do the twist
That’s “The Twist”, by Chubby Checker, circa 1960. One of the few songs to be released two years in a row and go to No. 1 both times.
It’s probably the judges pick who goes home since Simon said “It involves us” when Ryan prompted him on it.
I don’t like it. I disagree with the premise/question “America got it wrong”. America can’t get it wrong. They’re the court of last resort. They’re the ones who listen to the radio, buy the CD’s & buy the concert tickets. “America” is the raison d’etra of the winner.
Taking Alan’s point, Michael Johns wasn’t eliminated early – America voted & put him in 7th place out of 7. How is that wrong? America did what they did. The AI vetting process forces a singer to sing multiple genres, which he didn’t. That doesn’t mean he’s not good at his style, it just means he has a niche – same as Chris Daughtry. We’ll see if he has the same success. Conversely, Taylor could sing pretty much anything – nothing excitingly well, but he was well-rounded so he won. I think the proof is in his career afterwards – nothing exciting, just semi-solid.
Leave it alone, TPTB………….
I know what the twist is. ALL of the bottom 3 go home.
Its never a real twist or surprise, its always obvious. Its probably a double elimination – big surprise.
Please…let it be that Kara is getting booted off the show…..that would be just fine…as she is “ridiculously” annoying.
They’re building this up like it’s something totally unexpected. Having the judges pick who goes home tomorrow wouldn’t be that big a shock, at least to me, especially after they added one extra spot.
I don’t know. I hope they don’t pick who goes home … cause then it’s like… a waste of voting, yanno?
I vote someone Gets Immunity!

If the judges were to pick immunity, it would make it seem like there is some sort of shocker in the bottom 3. I can see it now.
