Update : American Idol Has Put Michael Back In Group 1

Group 1 of the Top 36 will perform next Tuesday for America’s vote. The highest male and female vote getter will advance to the Top 12 along with the next highest vote getter, male or female. So who will compete in group 1?

* Casey Carlson
* Danny Gokey
* Michael Sarver
* Ricky Braddy
* Ann Marie Boskovitch
* Stevie Wright
* Anoop Desai
* Tatiana Del Torro
* Jackie Tohn
* Brent Keith Smith
* Alexis Grace
* Stephen Fowler

A stacked group none the less. It will be interesting how this pans out. My favorite, Casey Carlson, is in there and it doesn’t look to good for her.
I have a question. I normally watch AI from the Top 12, so I really wanted to know, if they’re going to show all of the people in this group performing? Becuase, I really like Stevie but they barely show her singing…

    Also, I’m afraid Stevie might go home, because she’s SO talented but not reallty a fan favorite. :sad:

    Sorry for my english, but it’s not my mother language. :blush:
All 12 will sing since it is a voting night. I think they will each get about 90 seconds (someone correct me if I am wrong about length of performance, please :biggrin: )

    Wazza matta? Can’t make up your mind as to whether or not you’re indecisive?

    Well, many theories have just gone out the window. Is Howard Stern behind this diabolical treachery? Perhaps the truth will be sought out on the next Darryl and Alan radio show. :biggrin:

    I wish THIS was the Final 12.
    Then hopefully Bratiana could get voted out on the first night.
    But then again, she could become the joke of the season like Sanjaya was.

    for the girls, i really like stevie, but i’m not sure she has enough exposure to be really noticed.
How much more do you need her to expose Peri? Or did C_B hijack your avatar?

  9. DJSlim says:

    Matt has replaced Michael in group one
Wow, this will be a nail-biter. I like several of the guys, but only 2 of the girls – Stevie and Ann Marie. But several of the guys! *wringing hands and walking in circles* What to do, what to do?
i hear you, amy. I really hope Danny (who from now on i shall call Robert Downey III) and Anoop get through, though I also like Michael Sarver. And despite his Hollywood week flub, Stephen has a nice voice too. yeah, it’s gonna be tough with the boys.

    for the girls, i really like stevie, but i’m not sure she has enough exposure to be really noticed.
Oh yeah – that’s why it’s only my opinion. I think that the judges divide them up by what they think are fair standards for determining the top 12. The people who they think are the best won’t be in the same groups in order to have a “better” top 12. I’m not sold on all of their “bests” – I just think that that’s how they divide up the groups.

    Tatiana and Nick are only on for ratings. They eventually have to be destroyed. Although I can’t stand Tatiana, I’m worried that Mr. Gentle may camp himself a longer stay than expected. Hopefully that won’t happen.
That sort of division certainly makes sense. I would love to have tweaked the groups to suit me though :tongue:

    I cannot fathom any reason on earth why Tbrat would advance next week given the likes of Ann Marie, Jackie, and Stevie. Please girls, don’t crash and burn against Tbrat! :blink:
I guess I should explain what I meant…but first, David Cook was heavily pimped last year – him and Brooke were the Hollywood week commercial just a year

    In terms of overall talent, the producers are trying to set it up so that the top 3 boys (Danny, Adam and Matt) and the top 3 girls (Lil, Jasmine, Ann Marie/Jackie) are all separated. Are these the best, who knows? They were the ones that the producers force-fed us the most. We’ll see how it all pans out. Either way, watch out for Felicia – she could be a bigger player than originally thought.

    No matter how it goes down, I’m heavily rooting for Adam Lambert as I think his voice is in a different league than the vast majority of the other contestants. Like his style/image or not, the boy can out-sing them all.
But your opinion of who the top/best 3 guys and girls are may not be the same as someone else’s. Therefore while your logic works perfectly for your selections, it doesn’t fit for others. Very well thought out, but all my favorite girls (such as they are) are in this group. Then again, after they perform in the next few weeks, I’ll probably change my mind at least a few more times. And as far as the producers force-feeding us, you completely left out Tbrat and Norman. Those two, in particular Tbrat, have gotten way more than their fair share of face time.
I’m confused as to why people think that this is a stacked group. If you look at the contestants, very few of them come across as the types who could actually win. Thus, I would argue that this is a somewhat WEAK group. Lemme give you the rundown..Boy’s First:

    Danny: potential winner
    Brent: decent but not going to get that far
    Michael: not a chance at winning
    Ricky: the only one of the 18 guys muted by producers
    Stephen: not a chance
    Anoop: likely top 12′er

    Tatiana: inevitably going down in a fire
    Alexis: interesting but can’t win
    Jackie: hmmm could go far or not far at all
    Anne Marie: maybe top 12′er but not talented enough to win
    Casey: even a bikini girl can’t save this cannon fodder
    Stevie: more cannon fodder

    So let’s be real..we’re only dealing with people who got screen time, not with that many people who are likely to be the next American Idol. We should be more concerned if Danny, Lil and Adam were in the same group, but since the producers will declare war on the American public if these aren’t our top 3 – that was never going to happen.

    The fact that we know that Danny and Anoop will advance and that the other spot is a battle between Anne Marie and Jackie means that this group is full of what the producers think of as cannon fodder. Let’s hope that some of these people are better or worse than their respective hypes so that prepackaged producer picks won’t determine who we vote for. This week, I’ll be rooting for Ricky Braddy because someone has to.
You really think the producers start manipulating the phone lines this early? I predict that of your big three, Lil loses her group – gets put in as a wildcard and we vote her off 12 or 11. Danny will go far, as it seems he appeals to multiple female age groups and Adam should go far on talent and voice but sooner or later but before the top 3, the “backlash” will take him out . Also remember that Jason Castro and David Cook were in no way producer’s picks last season.

    What were the producers thinking? They put too many good people on group 1. It’ll be sad to see many of them go. I’m predicting Danny, Anoop and Anne-Marie, but I’d like to see Alexis, Michael and Stephen advance as well.
