Keep in mind that you can’t compare them keeping a guy over keeping a girl because there will be an even 18-18 split between in the Top 36. Whether they keep Tatiana will have no bearing on whether they keep Jamar.

Is it just me, or is Idol showing the door to MANY very talented black performers this year? Laneshe? Jamar?

Could it be they have their token quoate met and all others must go? Could it be they are keeping Tatiana because they needed to meet their latin quota?

I hope not, but sure seems smelly to me.

Which is no real big deal, I can tell he’s worked hard training his voice to do this and that is commendable. But his power and projection are in the higher keys. Many male singers have had commercial succses with similar vocal sound but have not had to “win” competitions on this grand a scale against other male vocalists. No doubt he has an army of support at this stage but will it be enough?
Of course it will be enough…unless its not. He is definitely going to win….unless he doesn’t. :w00t:

I really don’t like Adam, just not my cup of tea I guess. I really wanted to see Alex (with the eyebrows) sing more, but they haven’t shown much of him since his audition, which I loved.
Cute name, Hebejebes!!

To prove my “Annie Lenox” point, relisten to Adam’s rendition of “Believe” and tell me he isn’t channeling Annie. If I didn’t know it was Adam, I would think it was a Lenox recording.

  8. Bill Mitchell says:

I think I have identified that thing Adam has “added” to his sound that is making his voice seem so ‘feminine’ compared to the old vids we have seen of him online.

He has increased the speed of his vibrato. As a singer myself, it is easy to speed or slow your vibrato (if you are trained) and thus, I think this is a wilful choice on Adam’s part (and not a wise one).

With the increased vibrato, he sounds less like a strong tenor male and more like Annie Lenox. I hope someone who has his ear will tell him this.

I’m counting these type of comments – this makes 3.
Does mine really count Amy? I said it in jest and followed it by a retraction.
Definitely counts. Alan said his in jest also, and has been doing all kinds of back-pedaling to put conditions on it, but it doesn’t matter. If it came out of your mouth, it counts. BUT the good news is that it will not be held against you!

I’m with you on this one. I also liked Giraud and awful lot. Gokey is still my favorite. McIntyre isn’t doing it for me.

I wholeheartedly agree about Tatiana, Nick and Nate!
Well, you’re just IN my head, aren’t you?

I totally blew it. I thought Tbrat’s room was toast but we need to keep the token drama queens to add spice to the show

I am an Adam fan and I agree. He needs to show us his lower register (which is awesome) and fast or he will get labeled as the ‘drag queen’ of the competition.

An strong upper register is like icing on a cake. It makes the cake taste better but who wants to eat a whole bowl of just icing every night? Adam needs to mix it up.

The consensus I am getting from across the web thus far is that Cher’s “Believe” was a terrible choice for Adam. Most people think he “pulled it off”, but why make such a risky pick this early on? Especially since Cher is the ultimate gay icon and Adam will struggle with the whole gay thing on this show (if he comes across as over-the-top about it).
True. But the funny thing is, I never thought Adam was “gay”, since a lot of non gays wear eye liner, such as David Cook.
When I first heard Adam Lambert, he was my favorite. But each time I heard him after that, his voice seemed to change. I don’t really care for the girly type sound of his voice now. But if that’s how he really sings, then that’s his choice I guess. Just not my choice.

Revocation of ‘Man Club’ privileges has already started. Jimmy Kimmel & Adam Carolla have been notified.
Lol, what can I say, just don’t like her. I think it is because to me, she looks like she could be a complete b*tch under the smile. Also, I never liked her voice as to me, it was a continual pitch-fest. I’m not saying anyone is wrong by liking her – I just don’t personally.

Casey, on the other hand, is a sexy little bear cub. You just want to squeeze her :)

Next year, I am going to try to keep count of how many times this comment, or a similar one, is repeated! Let’s see, this season so far, Alan has said this already, so this one makes 2….
We should start a count starting tonight! I find it laughable every single year.
