I don’t have many details at this point but MJ is reporting that Jordin Sparks has been dropped by 19 Entertainment.

I will post any followups or new details as I find them. Feel free to leave your thoughts though.

  2. TLR says:

Has any of the Idols not been dropped by 19?

  3. reifist says:

    that’s too bad…

  4. angie says:

19 drives me crazy…they get what they can quickly and then dump them. I know it’s all music business, but still.

  5. hmm says:

why? i thought she did well! i mean 2 major hit singles… and a new album from her would probably have been a bigger success than her first one.

anyway, i was looking around your site and saw you posted lots of promos on your site for season 7, i hope you will keep posting promos for season 8 when they start coming!! =) (especially the ones the judges are in)

  6. DrillerAA says:

Formal! I think I meant former. Sorry about that. :dizzy:

  7. Justin says:

I thought the Idols were dropped by 19 after a year anyway because of the contract??? Guess not… does it matter? Not really…Jordin seems to be doing fine..

On another note, I posted a comment a while ago asking where Katharine’s mustang was that she won during the Idol finale b/c the Caption This .. was not a mustang by any means.. no one answered, so I found out myself — she traded it in for a BMW!

  8. DrillerAA says:

Well, 19E was sold this week by Simon Fuller to a Sports Entertainment group for 124.4 million + stock options, + 36 million in other interests. Fast bucks, I rest my case.

  9. DrillerAA says:

You win some, you lose some. I’m not convinced that 19E is capable of managing a variety of talent. They are probably focused on making a fast buck of the latest fad in music and if you can’t make the music they think will sell, you’re gone. That’s not a bad thing. Many of these formal Idol artists will probably be better off without 19E
