Update : (Monday 10/6/08) Misty May is officially out
Update : (Sunday 10/5/08) Despite previous reports, it seems the injury may not have been as bad as originally noted and doctors will evaluate Misty on Monday to see if she can compete this week
Misty May has been forced to leave this season of Dancing With The Stars due to an injury that will require surgery. The injury occurred yesterday and while she was released from the hospital last night, her days of dancing on the show are done.
It is unclear at this time whether someone already voted off like Kim K. will return to the show in Misty’s place or if we will skip eliminating a contestant this week but I am sure we will learn more in the coming days. I will keep everyone posted.

A ruptured Achilles tendon can take 6-9 months to completely recover from. I do hope it has not put her volleyball career in jeopardy.
Really too bad. I read that she has also been competing/training for volleyball at the same time as the dancing, and she and Walsh won some big tournament a few days ago. Hope the surgery fixes whatever is wrong and she’s back in winning condition soon.
