Having to worry about being “PC” is what is wrong with so much in the world.

Having an opinion, whether deemed right or wrong by others, should not be a bad thing. Jordin’s only ‘mistake’ was saying it out loud. She has since stated that she may have used better phrasing, but she stands by what she said. I say good for her!

    I absolutly love that dress
So, now voicing one’s opinion about premarital sex is intolerance?

I think what Jordin said was a knee-jerk reaction and just her voicing her support for The Jonas Brothers.

    Good on her.
No, opinions are very good things…calling people who disagree with your views on premarital sex “sluts” however is intolerance, yes indeed.
This is just a little sarcasm on my part but Jordin called everyone who has had sex before marriage a slut!

[even though that's probably not how she meant it]

And the entire Britney thing was hysterical. Having won the awards or not, thats all she did was go up there and accept her award so how is that a comeback?
Of course that’s how Ms. Sparks meant it. Intolerance runs deep.

As to BS…Winning three awards anywhere after her last year counts as a comeback. She had to do some work to win the awards.

This wasn’t a Comedy Central Roast – this was the MTV VMA’s. His comments were WAY out of line. The Jonas Brothers have been in the entertainment business since they were about 6 years old. The purity rings were talked about back then. Their personal decision is personal. They don’t talk about it in interviews anymore just for that fact. They don’t want it to be the main focus of their band. If the VMA host wanted to make a joke or comment about it – that would have been fine – but to go on and on in such a distasteful rampage was completely uncalled for. Nick is only 15 years old. I applaud Jordin Sparks (and so did the majority of the VMA audience) for sticking up for the Jonas Brothers. The host ruined the entire show. I sure hope they don’t invite him back next year !
I did finish watching the show last night in bed only because I wanted to see how bad it got.

Ok so I think the host was an ass. a lot of his comments were uncalled for but remember this is MTV we are talking about. This is the way a lot of their shows are. That is what makes them MTV. they will go where no other network dares to go. I am not saying that is right but so much of MTV is “Real Life” and someone has to point that out.

You have your conservative networks like ABC, CBS and FOX and then you have the networks that go a little beyond like MTV and BET. We don’t have to like what they do. Some people appreciate that type of show. Those who don’t just need to change the channel like I am sure so many people did last night. That’s what is nice about cable. There is a show for everyone.

I went on just now to add the winner and low and behold it was done. Thanks Joyce for adding that.

Did you actually watch the show? Other than Kid Rock, it was awful.
Oh hell no.

  11. rachel says:

Awful AWFUL show. I think they gave Britney Spears SYMPATHY awards. In my opinion, she did not deserve any of them because she was not better than the other nominees.
The whole political rant was ridiculous and ruined the show for me. Not the time or place, especially from someone who isn’t even American.
Russell Brand a heroin junkie who dressed up like Osama Bin Laden on Sept 12, 2001 while New York, Pennsylvania and the Pentagon were smoldering ashes and thousands of American’s remains lay beneath the rubble. MTV fired him. Russell Brand was denied entry into New York’s JFX Airport in April 2008 because of his prior drug convictions. MTV rehired him to host the VMA’s. Russell only has temporary visa status
I don’t need a non-American uneducated entertainer to tell me who to vote for. Wrong place, wrong time, not even funny. And looking at the faces of the people in the audience, I would say they didn’t find him amusing either.

  13. angie says:

The parts we flipped to during commercials on the Colts game were just plain AWFUL! I couldn’t have watched that minute by minute if you paid me. The host was terrible. The lip syncing was terrible. Even though Britney looks and acts better, did we have to have her shoved down our throats every other minute? Bad.

I really AM old. But I don’t think even my 17 year old could have sat through that show. Blech.

  14. Joyce says:

  15. DJSlim says:

honestly I can’t handle this show anymore. It is so awful. I will update the post in the morning on whether Jordin won the Best New Artist award. I highly doubt she will. She is up against Taylor, Miley and Katy Perry.

  16. DJSlim says:

I don’t know if anyone else it watching this but the producer should be shot. what a terrible job so far and we are only 19 minutes into it.
